Welcome to 7th Grade Social Studies
Hi! The 7th grade curriculum is an exciting examination of world history and geography from AD 500 through the 1500's. This is essentially the Medieval Times all over the world and the early Modern Times in Europe. Students will experience a variety of learning situations: researching and using information databases and technology in the Library Media Center,creating projects such as maps and timelines, performing individually and in groups, and doing presentations.We play the 'NewsGame' to stay current with worldwide events. Extra Credit and Expansions will be offered with each unit.
For the 2008 school year we will also be covering the National Election with students doing a variety of activities and actually voting on line on Oct 29 and 30 in our new computer lab.
The class text is McDougal Littell: World History Medieval and Early Modern Times and students will do reading at home, but do discussion during class.
